Our Passion

We exist to help everyone have a deeply
rooted relationship with Jesus!

If you read the above statement and immediately wondered what is entailed within the simple phrase, this page is for you!
Really, it's for everyone who wants to know what Turning Point is all about.

"We want to welcome you to a spiritual journey that will deeply impact your relationship with Jesus. Over the last few years, we have observed discipleship issues within the local church, and have witnessed how shallow the roots are for many who profess to be Christian. It is our heart at Turning Point Church that everyone who is a follower of Jesus would apprentice their life around the lifestyle of Jesus and grow their roots deep in Him. We want every person to be with Jesus, become like Jesus, and do what Jesus did. Our central theme verse for this journey ahead comes from Jeremiah 17:7-8 NLT, “But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit." It is our prayer that, regardless of where you are at on your journey of following Jesus, that you would have your roots reach deep to the water of life, who is Jesus."

Welcome to the journey ahead!

Our Purpose

Our Purpose

We believe God has revealed His purpose for all of us through Jesus:

Be with Jesus. Become like Jesus. To Do what Jesus did.

Like our passion, this statement may be simple, but the width it encompasses is greater than can be expressed in a statement. Consider this purpose as the trunk of a tree, simple, strong and central, sourced from a deeply rooted passion and rising up to branch out to everything we do as followers of Jesus.

Our Principles

Our Principles

Principles are the largest branches growing from the trunk and represent what we prioritize. They keep our hearts centered while considering how to fulfill our purpose.

  • We care about spiritual rhythms, meaning we prioritize discipleship and the practices of following Jesus.
  • We care about relationships, meaning we prioritize people and unity, even when it gets tough.
  • We care about choosing joy, meaning we allow the Holy Spirit to make us new and serve from His fullness.
  • We care about loving our city and the nations, meaning we prioritize serving all people so they can experience the love of Jesus as we have.
Our Practices

Our Practices

Each practice represents the roots that keep the tree from toppling over. We believe that every follower of Jesus is constantly practicing and growing in each of these pursuits overtime.

Our Places

Our Places

A tree with no leaves looks rather dead. Our places are the leaves of the tree and represent the most beautiful part of the whole tree. We believe each follower of Jesus is called to extend the passion, purpose, principles, and practices into their own unique places and beyond. This wonderful partnership can be summarized this way:

We are sent as apprentices of Jesus to places of work, play, school, living and influence.

The Way of Jesus isn't for Sunday alone, it isn't even for us alone, but the Way is Truth and Life to every place of our lives and to everyone we encounter.
